Weichai large generator sets successfully serve the Google data center in Italy

Recently, Weichai Power's large-scale Generator Set (weichai generator set) successfully landed in the Google Data Center, Italy project. With its stable and reliable performance and customized solutions, it provides key power guarantee for the data center, once again demonstrating the global competitiveness of China's equipment manufacturing.
It is understood that the Italian Google data center, as an important regional digital infrastructure, places extremely high requirements on the stability and continuity of power supply. Its design standard reaches the Uptime Tier III level, which means it must have complete redundant backup and fault recovery capabilities. Aiming at the wide temperature range of -5°C to 40°C in the project location, the Weichai team customized a power solution with a total installed capacity of 45,000kWe, deploying a total of 25 1,800kWe (400V, 50Hz) large generators.

This batch of units uses a high-efficiency power package composed of Weichai 12M55 engines and 400V Generators. The engines have excellent low-temperature starting performance and high-temperature heat dissipation capabilities. They can quickly respond to load changes in extreme temperature environments and ensure the continuous operation of core equipment in the data center. The unit is also equipped with an intelligent control system, which can realize parallel operation, automatic switching and remote monitoring of multiple units, greatly improving operation and maintenance efficiency and management accuracy.

The person in charge of the Google data center project said that the Weichai generator set was chosen not only because it complies with the stringent standards of Tier III data centers, but also because of Weichai's technology accumulation and global service network in the field of large power equipment. This cooperation is an important breakthrough for Weichai's high-end generator sets to enter the world's top data center field, laying a solid foundation for subsequent expansion of the global high-end market.
